Some appear to portray Trump as a latter-day Cyrus. We can rest assured that Trump will not be involved with the construction of Israel's eternal temple because he is not King David's seed (2 Samuel 7:13). The Persians conquered Babylon and this led to Israel's return to their land and the rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem. King Cyrus of Persia authorised this return and reconstruction. Cyrus' decree that enabled Israel's return and the rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem is recorded in 2 Chronicles 36:23 and in Ezra 1:2-4. These Bible passages match the history recorded on the Cyrus Cylinder that is currently located in the British Museum. The quote below is a translation of this ancient record:
I returned to these sacred cities on the other side of the Tigris, the sanctuaries of which have been in ruins for a long time, the images which used to live in them, and I established for them permanent sanctuaries. I also gathered all their former inhabitants and re turned to them their habitations.
Ezra records the following relating to Cyrus' decree relating to the rebuilding of the temple:
Ezra 1:2 Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The LORD God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah. 1:3 Who is there among you of all his people? his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the LORD God of Israel, (he is the God,) which is in Jerusalem.
Israel produced a stamp to commemorate the Cyrus' Declaration. The following quote is from an Israeli goverment website:
In 539 BCE, after uniting the Persian and Median kingdoms under his rule, King Cyrus subdued the Babylonian Empire. In 538 BCE King Cyrus made a public declaration granting the Jews the right to return to Judah and rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem. In the year 586 BCE, King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylonia conquered the city of Jerusalem, destroyed the Temple and sent many of the inhabitants of Judah into exile. The Babylonian Exile ended when the empire was conquered by Cyrus II of Persia and Media, who made a public declaration granting the Jews the right to return to Judah and rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem.
Note the coin below the stamp. This coin commemorates Trump's support for Jerusalem as Israel's capital. As stated above, the Bible demands that the seed of David will build Israel's eternal temple.
